Starship Troopers: Extermination is set to launch on PS5 in October, ready to compete with Helldivers 2 for the attention of freedom-loving gamers. The twist of fate, where Helldivers draws clear inspiration from Starship Troopers, only adds to the intrigue.
Extermination entered Early Access on PC last May, so the Mobile Infantry’s elite Deep Space Vanguard is expected to hit the ground running with guns blazing. Eurogamer provides additional details about the game, which promises to be thrilling. This 16-player cooperative FPS will have players battling hundreds of onscreen bugs, whose persistent corpses can even be used as makeshift barricades.
The multiplayer action unfolds in the Galactic Front, where developer Offworld has promised overarching storylines to provide context for new gameplay elements and updates. The game’s first operation will take players to the icy planet of Boreas, where they’ll face mutated warriors, drones, and possibly even the flame-spewing Tanker Bug. Offworld aims to add every bug and weapon from the Starship Troopers films and animated movies over the coming years
